My name is Katelyn Roy, and I am a 3rd grade Math and Science teacher at Jordan Elementary in Austin ISD. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Plan II Honors and Studio Art, and I am passionate about helping students develop curiosity, creativity, and confidence through STEM learning. I enjoy finding ways to connect science, technology, and problem-solving to real-world experiences, and I am especially interested in incorporating coding into elementary classrooms. Outside of teaching, I enjoy creating art, gardening on my balcony, and exploring how creativity and technology can work together to inspire learning. I am excited to participate in the RET program and explore how computational research can be translated into meaningful learning opportunities for elementary students.
