Kate Sherlock is a graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry under the mentorship of Dr. Sean Roberts at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her B.S. in Chemistry, with a secondary major in Spanish, from the Ohio State University in 2025. While at Ohio State, she was distinguished with an American Chemistry Society Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry in 2024. Within the Roberts group, she studies photothermal heat generation and subsequent heat transfer in indium tin oxide nanocrystal (ITO-NC) systems using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Her research contributes to work being completed within Interdisciplinary Research Group 1 (IRG 1) at the Center for Dynamics and Control of Materials.
