I am interested in the development of new optical systems capable of measuring ultrafast excited state properties of materials. Before coming to The University of Texas at Austin, I completed my doctoral degree with Prof. Cathy Wong at the University of Oregon developing a single-shot transient absorption spectrometer. With Profs. Sean Roberts and Carlos Baiz at UT, my focus has been on the development of a multi-modal transient absorption microscope and an infrared scattering-type scanning near field optical microscope. In addition to optics and materials, I am passionate about the role that programming (specifically Python) can enhance data acquisition and analysis in complex experimental instruments.
