In the Summer of 2024 the Center for Dynamics and Control of Materials MRSEC hosted Research Experience for Undergraduates at the University of Texas at Austin. The 8.5-week program included research opportunities on interdisciplinary materials research projects involving chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering disciplines. Every student was paired with a graduate student / postdoctoral fellow mentor and a faculty mentor who help guide them through the research projects.
In addition to the research, students will participate in an organized program of lectures, lunches with CDCM faculty, laboratory visits and a variety of recreational activities. At the conclusion of the summer research, students presented their research posters and competed in a poster competition.
Research Topics:
- Nanocrystals & Nanowire Gels
- Nanowire Aerogel Membranes
- Materials Driven by Light
- Reconfigurable Materials
