Hey y’all, my name is Annie Porterfield. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at UT Elementary School here in Austin, Texas and will be going into my third year of teaching this upcoming Fall. For the last 2 years I’ve been departmentalized into teaching exclusively math and science curriculum, and am excited to continue this content with 2nd graders next school year! I am a graduate from the great University of Georgia (Go Dawgs) with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Elementary Education PreK-6th. I lost a lot of hands- on learning time with students and mentor teachers due to the pandemic overruling my last year and a half of college, so I am eager to learn and develop more ways to implement active learning in the science classroom.
