Are you a first year undergraduate student interested in learning the fundamentals of research in a science or engineering lab? Would you like to receive mentorship from a UT faculty member while working on a cutting edge research project? FUSE is the program for you! We are seeking self-motivated, independent students with the ability to balance multiple obligations. Students selected to participate will perform 7-8 hours of research in a UT lab during the Spring and Fall of 2024. In addition, students will enroll in a 1 hour weekly course both semesters of the program. The 1 hour weekly course will augment time spent in the lab with seminars, workshops, and round tables centered around topics pertinent for students entering research. The application deadline for the program is October 1st, 2023. A list of potential research projects along with hosting professor names can also be found on our website. An Open House for the program will be held on September 21st, from 10:30-12:00pm in the EER Innovation Center, EER 2.518 (RSVP for Open House). Please join us to learn more about the research projects and meet the faculty mentors.
