CDCM Undergraduate Researcher from Texas State University Wins Second Award
Dillon Gee, an undergraduate researcher in the CDCM Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program in summer 2024, has recently achieved another recognition for his work in the field of materials science. Dillon worked in Dr. Adrianne Rosales's lab this past summer on the project entitled "Leveraging Valence of Star-like PEGs to Tune Rheology and Gelation Pathways of Dynamic Hydrogels" where he one his first award for his poster presentation. Dillon is currently an undergrad researcher at Texas State University and is part of the CIMA PREM Center, CDCM's sister center at Texas State in Dr. Tania Betancourt's lab. After the success from this summer, Dillon brough his work to the UT Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium (UT FURS) earlier this month that was hosted by the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges consisting of one faculty member and two undergraduate students from the University of Texas, after which Dillon won yet another award for his work! Dillon has expressed gratitude for the support he received from Dr. Rosales and Dr. Nathaniel Conrad, highlighting their vital roles in his research journey and thanking them for the opportunity to work in their lab. He also shared his excitement about attending the upcoming ABRCMS convention next month, where he will present his summer research once again. Dillon’s achievement not only reflects his dedication and hard work but also underscores the vibrant research environment fostered by the Texas State University PREM CIMA and CDCM partnership. Congratulations to Dillon Gee for this well-deserved recognition, and best of luck at the upcoming convention!
