Graduate Research Assistant, Chemical Engineering, IRG 1
My work in the Belardi Lab focuses on designing and engineering molecular switches that respond to various stimuli such as peptide, light, and small molecules to control the interaction of actin-binding proteins (ABPs) to cellular F-actin. Using these switch tools, we hope to engineer tissue with tunable biophysical properties such as stiffness and permeability by modulating ABP-F-actin interactions.
