My name is Yvonne Rodriguez and I’m in my 17th year of teaching! I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from 3rd-5th grade across all subjects. I’m always striving to find ways to improve not only my teaching methods, but also ways to inspire my students. Giving back to my community is near and dear to my heart! Over the years, I have volunteered at a local community center to provide a coding camp for 5th and 6th grade students. Saturday’s are typically spent with me devoting my time at the Calaboose African American History Museum. I am also a teacher consultant with the Central Texas Writing Project, where I not only teach teachers how to teach Writing, but I have also spent time teaching young students to write their stories using Scratch Jr. ! I am so excited to be a part of the RET program this summer! I can’t wait to share my knowledge with my students and to get them more involved with engineering and the engineering process. Everyone benefits!
